Founders
The three Umaña sisters, Maureen Umaña Boatman, Carolina
Umaña Monéi, and Stephanie Umaña Russell, have
been trained in the Art of Music, specifically the piano. They have
played extensively as church pianists, choir accompanist as well as
performing in other community productions. As instructors, they have
been teaching piano cumulatively for over 30 years in south Orange
County and have directed and produced children's choirs and special
events.
Fluent in both Spanish and English, they continue to pass on the love
of language to their children. In their desire to educate their own
children in the arts, they found there was no one place where their
children could develop in all aspects of Fine Art. Combining their
talent, their love for the arts, and their love for teaching children,
the Umaña sisters founded the Umaña Academy of Fine Arts.
The Umaña Academy believes that children have a innate desire to
express themselves in the arts. Imagine what this world would be like
without music or works of art. Wouldn't it be wonderful if your child
could reproduce a beautiful watercolor, play a musical instrument, and
speak a second language? With proper instruction this natural love of
art can flourish.
